The Jane Coffin Childs Fund has a new online application using the Temelio platform. All former downloaded guidelines, including the 2024 guidelines should not be followed.
All instructions to apply, with digital guides, can be found in the Temelio application portal. A preview of the application template for the 2025 submission can be found here: Jane Coffin Childs Memorial Fund – Fellowship Application Preview
From the application portal, the applicant will invite the appropriate contacts to receive an email with a link to upload the referee letters, access the proposed postdoctoral advisor form and to complete a Fiscal Officer signatory form. When a referee, proposed postdoctoral advisor or Contract/Financial Officer receives their email invite, please make sure that to register, they click “Don’t have an account? “Sign Up” that can be found under the big blue button. They will not be able to enter the site if they do not click “Sign up” when they first register into the site. Once they click “Sign Up”, it is very important that the contacts who receive the emailed link use THE SAME email that the applicant used to send their email in the Temelio site to register. They can then supply a password of their choice.
Three referee letters are required from qualified individuals, other than the applicant’s postdoctoral advisor, who can evaluate the applicant’s qualifications for the proposed research project and assess the applicant’s potential for successful independent biomedical research. For applicants with a Ph.D., the first referee letter should preferably come from the applicant’s thesis advisor. All referees must register in the Temelio site so that the information sent can be stored confidentially.
The Proposed Postdoctoral Advisor Form is required to be completed by the person the applicant has selected as their primary postdoctoral advisor. All proposed primary postdoctoral advisors must register in the Temelio site so that all submitted information can be stored securely and confidentially. If the applicant will also have a co-proposed postdoctoral advisor, directions on what is required can be found in the proposed postdoctoral advisor form.
One signature is required that verifies that the grant and contract/financial officer at the proposed postdoctoral advisor’s institute is aware of the applicant’s submission to the Jane Coffin Childs Fund and is aware of the terms of the award as outlined on www.jccfund.org. If the applicant is awarded as a JCC Fellow, the award notification letter will be sent to the institutional contacts as noted.
There is no administrative access to the online application but the template can be accessed above as a PDF. All access to the application is through the applicant, who may download a copy of their submitted file for administrative purposes.
